A Single Frame - About my short films
May 2013
Being mostly a painter I always believed in the power of a single image and its capability to tell a story. A story that is larger than the content visible in the image, by tapping into the viewer’s personal experience and history of memory, and thereby engaging the viewer in an interactive and creative dialogue.
The concept of a single frame and simplifying the “story”, which is developing within that frame, allows me to focus on one single experience (event, situation) that can, as a result trigger a multitude of new experiences.
My films are not about a narrative, moving from A to Z, but they hopefully take you places.
I like the idea of the single frame within which the story then slowly unfolds, just like in a painting.
The videos presented here, and more, can be viewed online, on vimeo and youtube.
And as always, I welcome any feedback and critique
